Frequently asked questions

Common Parent Questions

What should my dancer wear?

Students should wear clean, fitted, movement-appropriate clothing and class-required shoes when applicable. Hair should be secured away from the face, and jewelry or loose accessories should be removed when they create a safety concern. In general, dancers should avoid jeans, loose clothing, skirts, or anything that could catch on equipment. Ballet, tap, lyrical, contemporary, and fitness classes each have their own shoe or barefoot requirements, while hip hop classes typically use clean indoor sneakers. Students should wear the class-appropriate attire and follow instructor guidance on any special requirements.

How are absences handled?

Consistent attendance supports student progress and class safety. Families should notify Evolve as early as possible when a student will be absent. Makeup options may be offered when available but are not guaranteed.

Are trial classes available?

Yes. Students may enroll for one free trial class with no commitment or payment required. Continue through the normal registration process, choose the trial enrollment option when available, and note that the trial is for one class only. If your student continues, conversion to a full enrollment and payment will be required.

How does pickup work?

Minor students are released only to approved parents, legal guardians, or authorized pickup contacts listed in the student account or otherwise approved in writing by Evolve. Parents are welcome to wait in the lobby, visit a neighboring business such as Figaro's Pizza or All Mine Frozen Yogurt, or return at the end of class to pick up their child.

What happens during emergencies?

Evolve will take reasonable action during a medical emergency, injury, illness, allergic reaction, or urgent safety concern and will make reasonable efforts to contact a parent or guardian as soon as practical.

Is prior dance experience required?

No. Beginner-level classes welcome students who are new to dance. Contact Evolve for placement guidance.

Can my child join after the season has started?

Students may join when space, class readiness, and program timing allow. Joining later may affect participation in an upcoming performance.

Can parents stay during class?

Parents are welcome to wait in the lobby, visit a neighboring business such as Figaro's Pizza or All Mine Frozen Yogurt, or return at the end of class to pick up their child. Please remain off the dance floor unless invited, and keep the waiting area quiet and clear for family and student safety.

Will Evolve offer recitals or performances?

Performance participation is optional and opt-in. Evolve may offer community performance opportunities at a low cost, and any performance will not be required for participation in regular class enrollment.

Can we visit or try a class before enrolling?

Families may request a meet-and-greet or studio visit. Trial classes may be offered when space and timing allow. Continue through the normal registration process and select the trial enrollment option when it is available; required waivers and studio expectations apply.
